Product Care For Our Apparel

We suggest the following guidelines for SR by Sonali Raman’s apparel to ensure their longevity and allow you to enjoy many more wears.

Wash and care for handwoven cotton and other natural fibers:

  • Our handwoven, all-natural fiber and cotton apparel should be hand-washed using gentle detergents or dry-cleaned (gentle) to keep them looking their best.
  • For machine washing (where applicable as per Care Label), always use the gentle cycle at 30°C (80°F) to be more eco-friendly.
  • In the case of a stain, use a small amount of stain remover to dab and soak the area before washing. We recommend the patch test on an inside seam to confirm that it doesn’t affect the garment’s color.
  • Darker-colored and natural-dyed garments should also be hand washed separately in cold water.
  • We recommend air drying our apparel on a line or stand flipped inside out; this is more sustainable and extends the garment’s life. However, we do not recommend wringing your clothes before drying them as it causes severe damage to the pieces.
  • Do not harshly scrub when hand washing.
  • Do not use bleach.
  • We do not recommend using dryers for cotton clothes as the heat from the tumble causes pieces to lose their size and shape, leading to shrinkage. Instead, leave them out to dry. This is also more eco-friendly.

Fabric Care and washing Instructions are included on the Care Labels on all our garments. We suggest you read and follow them carefully. In case of any doubt or confusion, please write to us at SR@sonaliraman.com

Ironing Guideline For Our Apparel

Aside from dressing smart, ironed clothes are a meaningful part of one’s complete appearance and presentation. Ironing clothes not only results in clothes looking better but also helps keep them fresh. Properly ironed clothes pull a look together, and is also essential to maintaining clothes. Ironing won’t only help keep clothes wrinkle-free, but when done right, helps increase the lifespan of clothing, making them last longer while preserving the original quality.

However, ironing is a skill that comes with a specific technique to correctly iron fabrics in order not to ruin them.

Firstly, knowing the fabric is critical, along with what setting to use for that particular fabric. With every piece of clothing and fabric, the heat required varies to suit the material based on factors such as durability and heat resistance.

Please follow the ironing guidelines provided on the care label of your garment.

While ironing a garment is relatively simple, we recommend investing in a multi-functional iron with notations of fabric settings and an additional water spray to achieve the best-ironed finish for all your garments.

Product Care For Our Jewelry

  • Avoid using perfume, lotions, or hand sanitizers near the jewelry when wearing it.
  • Avoid water touching the jewelry.
  • Always store the jewelry in the cotton fabric pouch we provide or wrap in tissue and keep in a zip lock pouch.
  • Pieces with tassels and fringes should be laid flat when stored so they don’t get bent and crumpled.
